Girl On a Budget

It's Monday ladies, and there is no better cure for a case of the Mondays than a little bit of shopping & to make it that much better- why not score a few designer looks for lots less! We have some fun, designer inspired pieces that I wanted to share with you girls today.

First- you know that we LOVE Stella & Dot around these parts. I mean, who doesn't! Every bit of their jewelry is amaze. Unfortunately, we just can't get everything that we love because it can get a little pricey. That is where these beauties come into play:

These are the Stella and Dot Capri Chandelier earrings that we all know and love:

Even Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries anyone?!) and Emily Maynard (we're kind of obsessed!) love these pretty little earrings!

Here is our version of these MUST HAVE earrings. They come in turquoise and burgundy (perfect color for this fall season) & at only $12.00 they are super affordable!

Our other Stella and Dot fave is this Olivia Bib necklace:

This is our take on this swoon-worthy neck candy. We have this necklace in three pretty jewel toned colors- blue, burgundy, and kelly green:

$22.00
And last but not least, we wanted to feature one more designer inspired look we love. This Kendra Scott necklace featured in Lucky magazine has us head over heels in love:

Check out our version of this fabulous necklace. We have this one in deep tones of green, purple, navy, and burgundy. I am seeing a lot of game-day wear out of these fun and fashionable necklaces!

Thats it for today. Thanks for stopping by girls! We hope you have a fantastic week!

If you're from the Dallas area it is the last week to visit the state fair and trust me, you won't regret it- of course we're going to have a corny dog but I'm thinking we might have to try something silly like the fried cheesecake or fried margarita! Any recommendations? We will be in the gym for the next 3 weeks to make up for fair day so we better make it worth our while! :) Happy shopping! & as always- leave us a comment. We love hearing from you all!

DIY: Glitter Bombs

Our glammed up mason jars were getting lots of love at First Monday so we wanted to share how easy they were to make with you guys. A little glitter mess never hurt anyone!

What you'll need:
  • Mod Podge (We used the matte finish, but I think the gloss would work too)
  • Paint brush (The foam cheapies work like a gem!)
  • Glitter (The Martha Stewart brand would have looked better- we used the cheap stuff!)
  • Mason jars (Or flower vases!)
  • Clear spray paint

  1. Cover the outside of your mason jar in Mod Podge
  2. Pour glitter over jar covering the entire jar (we did this over an empty box for less mess)
  3. Let dry and spray with clear spray paint to keep glitter from flaking off
See how easy that is? We tied ribbons and bows to ours and added some pretty coral flowers for an uber girly look! Check out these other ideas.

These would also make a great holiday centerpiece or decoration. Let us know how yours turns out- we would love to see pictures of your pretty jars and how you plan to use them! Happy crafting!
